Allwinner Technology Co Ltd, a Zhuhai-based leading fabless semiconductor company that designs mixed-signal systems on a chip (SoC), exhibited market-advantage processors and hardware products such as A33, touted as the most cost-effective quad-core processor for tablets; and A83T, a heavyweight octa-core for full HD tablets, at the 12th Five-Year Plan Sci-Tech Innovation Exhibition on June 1-7 at the Beijing Exhibition Center. Allwinner is dedicated to smart application processor SoCs and smart analog ICs. Its product line includes multi-core application processors for smart devices and smart power management ICs used by brands worldwide.
At the high-level national exhibition, Allwinner represented circuit design manufacturers in regards to a major project integrating core electronic devices, high-end universal chips, and basic software. This was rated among the 16 most important scientific and technological projects in China Mid- and Long-Term Science & Technology Development Planning (2006-2020) in 2006, joining manned space flight and lunar exploration.
The exhibition was sponsored by 18 central departments under the auspices of the Ministry of Science & Technology, National Development & Reform Commission, Ministry of Finance, and Department of Armament Development of the Central Military Commission. The Zhuhai company’s mobile intelligent terminal SoC chip research, development and industrialization was approved as a special item in 2014, and cited as a technological breakthrough in improving people’s livelihoods.
Since its establishment in 2007, Allwinner has insisted on independently researching and developing core technologies with a focus on R&D of intelligent HD video processing, analog devices, network communication, and system integration. After nine years of unremitting efforts, it has mastered video encoding and decoding, smart power management, high-definition multi-screen video processing and output, as well as digital-analog hybrid high-speed signal design and integration. The company has also won a “China Core” award four times, and Allwinner A33 achieved the “Best Market Performance” award last year.
Allwinner develops chip products with market competitiveness and popularizes electronics with attention to technology, quality, performance, cost and service to promote high-tech enjoyment among the general public. At present, its intelligent hardware processor and open platform are widely employed in the WeChat Development Board, the iFLYTEK Intelligent Voice Touch, Jingdong’s DingDong Intelligent Speaker, the Meizu Gravity Floating Speaker, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
